On Monday July-08-19 thru Tuesday July-09-19, City of Kinston employees will be performing smoke testing of our sanitary sewer system. Smoke testing is one method we use to check the condition of our sanitary sewer collections system. The lines being tested are located in the Industrial Park area of the City. Some homes or businesses in these areas may notice a smoky odor or some visible smoke from streets, yards and some sewer services during the testing. This smoke is generated by a smoke machine, not from a fire. However, if you see or smell smoke in your building and are not sure where it is coming from, please treat it like a fire and call 911. The testing will be performed between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
