A lifelong resident of Lenoir County, Sergeant Harrison began his law enforcement career with the City of Kinston Police Department in 2014. Throughout his tenure, he has served in various roles within the department, gaining broad operational experience. In 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He currently serves as the Department’s Training Coordinator and Field Training Officer (FTO) Supervisor, where he oversees officer development and training initiatives. Past assignments and roles include:

Education

Sergeant Harrison attended North Lenoir High School and brings extensive experience and dedication to the field of law enforcement. With over 2,000 hours of specialized training, his areas of expertise include High-Risk Fugitive Apprehension, Narcotics Investigations, Gang Investigations, and leadership development through programs such as the Supervisor Leadership Institute and the Law Enforcement Executive Program at NC State University.

He holds multiple professional credentials, including an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate, General Law Enforcement Instructor Certification, and Taser Instructor Certification. Sergeant Harrison also serves as an Academy-Approved Instructor for the North Carolina Justice Academy’s Field Training Officer (FTO) course, where he plays a key role in shaping the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
